Knitting Class Schedule

More classes for Spring and Summer are here!  Kathy has planned some more fun projects to challenge and entertain you...

 

Come with a friend, or come to make new ones.  Either way, you can’t lose!

 

 Plus, all classes carry the prestigious “Vinnie Seal of Approval”!

                 Please note:  All materials must be purchased at The Shuttle Shop.  Classes must be pre-paid to hold a spot.

 

Private classes for groups or individuals are always available.

Oven Mitt

             Here’s something new to felt!  Stripes are easy because felting finishes the ends, or make it a solid color.  Pattern also includes felted handle grabbers and square hot pads.

Beginner and up.

Need to Know:  knit, purl, cast-on

Learn:  I-cord, circular knitting, pattern-reading, and shaping

Time:   Saturday, August 2nd & 9th,

             9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Cost:  $20, plus materials

	Be a friend of the earth and knit this string bag using recycled cotton yarn.  Then use it at the farmers’ market or anywhere and save on plastic bags.  A double bottom makes it strong and serves as a handy pocket for self-storage.  Another easy project for beginners and up.
Need to Know:  knit, purl, cast on, cast off
Learn:  circular knitting, picking up stitches, shaping
Time:  Saturday, June 14th & 28th,  9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

     Crocheters are eco too!  Shuttle Shop crochet instructor Deb Ettinger will lead the class and help you make a bag so fast and easy that you’ll want several.
Need to Know:  chain, single and double crochet
Learn:  shaping, pattern-reading

Fixing Mistakes

     We all make them and with this class you’ll learn not to let mistakes worry you.  Learn to fix all the most common problems.  Good for advanced beginners and up.

Need to Know:  knit, purl, cast on cast off

Learn:  problem solving

Time:  Thursday May 29,  6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Cost:  $15

Fiddlehead Mittens

     These mittens may be the softest things you (or a lucky recipient) will ever wear.  Choose any colors because you can’t go wrong.  Then add a lining knit from a silk and mohair yarn.  It’s like putting your hands in a cocoon.  Intrepid beginners and up.

Need to Know:  knit, purl, use of double-point needles

Learn:  color stranding, charts, I-cord cast on, picking up a lining

Time:  Thursday, July 17, 24 & 31,  10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

                                       or 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

            Wednesday, August 6th, 13th & 20th -  10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.                                        or 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Cost: $25, plus materials (pattern is included)

	This one button cardigan looks good on everyone and is made with wonderfully soft Rowan Calmer.  If you like to wear cotton but not knit with it, Calmer is an easy to use cotton blend that you’ll love.  The lace is easy to memorize but has just enough challenges too keep it interesting.
Need to Know:  knit, purl, cast on, increases and decreases
Learn:  charts, decreasing in lace patterns, sweater construction, altering patterns
Time:  Class will meet from 10:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m.
